ETA AGQTP Learning about the Literary Resources
2009
ETA, in conjunction with e:lit, ran a project supporting junior secondary work with their feeder schools to develop a continuum of learning from years 5-8 in teaching literary concepts. Participation in the project involved
- focussing on a form or feature of literary texts and its manifestation in print and electronic texts
- programming collaboratively with other English teachers and teachers from feeder primary schools for a continuum of learning in this area
- integrating ICT into content delivery and professional conversations
The following programs were developed:
- Norfolk Island Central School worked with their primary teachers to produce this program on characterisation.
- Coffs Harbour High School worked with Kororo and Coffs Harbour public schools to produce this program on characterisation along with the Year 8 assessment task
These resources were made available
- Terms and ideas to consider in programming about characterisation
- Character Analysis Template
As part of this process we gathered data about the collaboration across school campuses to ascertain the most effective ways this may be done.
